Pete Dowsett

 

Pete Dowsett is a freelance Studio Engineer, Producer, Mixer, Mastering Engineer and also Live Sound Engineer.

In the studio he has worked on numerous commercial releases for independent labels such as Townsend Records, Lime Records and Ghoulish Records. He has worked with several touring signed bands including Puressence, Beholder, Lipshock and Luna Kiss.

In the live sound environment Pete Dowsett has worked both as an in-house engineer at The Kasbah, Coventry and the HMV Institute, Birmingham.  He is also the touring engineer with Twisted Wheel. In-house shows have included work with the likes of The Futureheads, The Cribs, Cage The Elephant, Miles Kane, Chase & Status, Stiff Little Fingers, Toploader. James Walsh (Starsailor), Pulled Apart by Horses, Jamie Woon, Dodgy, The Selecter, Foals and Ash.

He has also worked with several PA hire companies and events management teams such as Lennon Sound & Lighting and CV1.

Fozzy – European Tour

So I have just come back from a Eurooean tour with Fozzy.  First off I want to say what a pleasure it was to tour with such a nice and committed band.

It was a nice change to be housed for the duration of the tour in a tour bus rather than the van and travel lodge solutions I am used to.

In the eleven dates outside of my hometown of Coventry, my highlights were definitely:

Brighton, Concord 2 – L’ Acoustic Arc system – Digidesign Profile, XTA processor and Waves Maxx Bass. Need I say more?

Berlin, White Trash – A sweaty little basement club with a small PA but it has a real history.  Being Paul the bass players birthday we found out that their staff were well up for a few drinks after too!

I am looking forward to working with them again next year.

Works in progress

So this week I have been mastering some tracks for James Herring an absolutely brilliant, pop rock artist.  If you like Snow Patrol this will definitely be for you.

I am also looking forward to starting work on mixing Unico’s remix of Labrynth’s – Earthquake. , Labrynth already loves this remix so much that he has posted it on his facebook wall so I can’t wait to make it sound even more epic.

Other news: Pre-production has started on Flygones next EP and I am at Coventry Kasbah on Monday engineering the Miles Kane show.

Rates

Recording and mixing rates start from £200 per 8 hour day.
Mastering is £30 per track.
Live sound starts from £120 per gig.

A COMPLETELY FREE evaluation master is available to trial mastering services (for security the track will be cut short).

If you would like a mix trial I am happy to provide one but due to the amount of time it takes to satisfactorily complete you need to send a £50 non-refundable deposit. If you are unhappy you will be under no obligation to proceed with the rest of the order.
